About Our Legal Services
Legal Matters Can Be Complicated. Getting Help Doesn't Have to Be.
At Riggs & Parker, we believe good legal representation starts with listening. We take the time to understand what you're facing, explain your options in plain language, and help you take the next step with confidence.
Our Philosophy
The Way We Practice Law
We believe the practice of law should be built on relationships, not transactions.
That means treating people with respect, communicating honestly, doing careful work, and remembering that behind every legal matter is a person, a family, a business, or a future that matters.
We're here to give you a place to turn when you don't know what to do next and to help you find a way forward.
Our Process
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
If you have not worked with an attorney before, you may not know what to expect. That is completely normal. My goal is to make the process clear and comfortable from the very beginning.
Below is what working together typically looks like from the first phone call through to moving forward on your situation. Every step is designed around you.

The Four-Step Process
From your first outreach to moving forward together — here is how the process works, clearly laid out so there are no surprises.
Step 01
Schedule a Consultation
The first step is simply reaching out. You can call or email to set up a time to talk. We'll find a time that works for your schedule — there's no rush and no pressure.
Step 02
We Talk Through Your Situation
During the consultation, we'll talk through what is going on. Share as much or as little as you are comfortable with. I will listen, ask a few questions, and make sure I understand what you are dealing with. This is a conversation, not a test.
Step 03
I Outline Your Options
Once I understand your situation, I will walk you through your options in plain English. I'll explain what each path may look like, and if there are risks or important decisions, we'll talk through those together. My goal is for you to leave with a clear picture of where things stand.
Step 04
We Move Forward Together
If you decide to move forward, we will take the next steps together. I will handle the legal side of things and keep you informed along the way, so you are never left wondering what is happening with your case. No surprises, just steady, clear progress.
Questions People Often Ask
-
Not at all. Many people reach out without a clear picture of what kind of help they need —that’s exactly what the consultation is for.
You can describe your situation in plain terms and we’ll figure out the right approach together.
-
The consultation is a straightforward conversation. You share what’s going on — as much or as little as you’re comfortable with — and we listen carefully and ask a few questions to make sure we understand your situation.
From there we’ll walk you through your options in plain English, explain what each path might look like, and answer any questions you have. There’s no pressure and no obligation. Our goal is simply for you to leave with a clear picture of where things stand.
-
Absolutely not. The consultation carries no obligation whatsoever. Not every situation requires hiring an attorney, and that is completely okay. Even if you decide not to move forward, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of your situation and what your options are.
If you do decide you’d like help, we’ll talk through next steps together at that point — no pressure, no rush.
-
We return calls and messages the same day or the next business day. If you call and we are unavailable, leave a voicemail and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. If you send an email or fill out the contact form, you’ll typically hear back within one business day.
You won’t be left wondering — we make it a point to respond promptly because we know that when something legal comes up, waiting around for answers is the last thing you need.
-
That’s completely normal, and we’ll be straight with you about it.
Some situations are straightforward; others need a closer look before we can give you a reliable answer. If that’s the case, we’ll tell you so during our conversation rather than giving you something vague or misleading. We’d rather take the time to get it right than rush an answer that doesn’t actually help you. We’ll let you know what we need to look into and follow up as soon as we have something useful to share.
